what is it about Wine buying that makes the average consumer nervous or uneasy?
it seems that the great majority of people tend to stick to the tried and true and are unwilling to explore the world of wine, while 3+/- percent of the people out there are certifiable “cork dorks”… does the average consumer not care what they are drinking? do we not want to put in the time and energy to expand our horizons? or is it something else…
after all, it is just really well-treated rotten grape juice, no?
Beacsue they can’t tell how it tastes from the label. The tried and true brands they have tasted. Maybe Wine And cheese shops should HELP ppl expand their horizons by offering wine tasting nights, or even samples when you come in to shop.
